Understand this calculator

What it does

Builds the Dasamsa (D10): each sign is split into ten parts of 3° and each planet is placed in the matching sign.

Why it matters

Tradition reads D10 for career, public standing and what you do in the world, as a detail layer under the 10th house of the main chart.

How it is worked out

  1. Each sign is divided into ten slices of 3°.
  2. For odd signs the count starts from the same sign; for even signs it starts from the 9th sign from it (the Parashari rule).
  3. The planet's slice number moves the count forward to give its D10 sign.

How to read your result

  • Look at the 10th house of D10 and its occupants, and at where the lord of the main chart's 10th house falls.
  • The planet table shows each planet's D10 sign and house.

What it cannot tell you

Very sensitive to birth time (a 3° slice is about 12 minutes of rising time). Interpretation is traditional symbolism, not career advice.
