What it does

Checks whether all seven planets lie on one side of the Rahu-Ketu axis (a full pattern) or all but one (partial), and notes where Rahu stands.

Why it matters

People often hear that they 'have Kaal Sarp'. The tool tells you whether the pattern is actually present and how it is classed.

How it is worked out

  1. Draw the half-circle from Rahu to Ketu in zodiac order.
  2. Count how many of the seven planets are inside it.
  3. All seven means full; six means partial.

How to read your result

  • Matched or not, partial or full, and Rahu's house.

What it cannot tell you

Not recognised in the oldest classical texts and disputed between schools; the one-sided pattern turns up in a noticeable minority of charts by chance.
