What it does

Looks for Raj Yoga indications: relationships between the lords of the angle houses (1, 4, 7, 10) and the trine houses (1, 5, 9), and for the planet traditionally called the yogakaraka.

Why it matters

Raj yoga ('royal combination') is the classic sign, in the texts, of status and ease. People often ask whether they 'have' one.

How it is worked out

  1. Find the lord of each house from your lagna.
  2. Check for conjunction, mutual aspect or exchange between angle lords and trine lords.
  3. Check whether one planet rules both an angle and a trine for your lagna (the yogakaraka).

How to read your result

  • Each yoga card lists the planets and houses involved and the exceptions the texts give.

What it cannot tell you

Many charts show some Raj-yoga formation, and the classical texts make strength and dasha timing essential for results. Traditional symbolism only.
