What it does

Works out your Moolank (birth number), Bhagyank (destiny number) and, if you type your name, your Namank (name number), names the graha that rules each one, draws your Lo Shu grid and lists the numbers and days tradition calls lucky for you.

Why it matters

Anka Shastra, the Indian tradition of numbers, links each number from 1 to 9 with one of the nine grahas, so a number is read like a planet: its nature, its friends and its rivals. Many people use it when choosing a name, a date or a business name.

How it is worked out

  1. Moolank: the day of the month you were born, added digit by digit until one digit is left (29 → 2+9 = 11 → 1+1 = 2).
  2. Bhagyank: every digit of the full date (DD-MM-YYYY) added and reduced the same way.
  3. Namank: each Latin letter of your name has a Chaldean value from 1 to 8 (A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, U=6, O=7, F=8 …); the total is reduced to one digit.
  4. Each number takes the graha of the Indian order 1 Sun, 2 Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Rahu, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Ketu, 8 Saturn, 9 Mars. Friendly and unfriendly numbers follow the Parashari friendships between those grahas.
  5. Lo Shu grid: the digits of your birth date (zeros ignored) plus your Moolank and Bhagyank are placed in the 3×3 magic square 4-9-2 / 3-5-7 / 8-1-6.

How to read your result

  • Number cards: the number, its graha, the traits tradition gives it, and its day and colours.
  • Relationship badges: whether the two numbers' grahas are friends, neutral or rivals. Friendly pairs are traditionally called harmonious.
  • Lo Shu grid: tap a square. Repeated digits are read as an emphasis, missing ones as qualities to cultivate; a full row, column or diagonal is a 'plane'.
  • Personal year: the number of the current year for you (birth day + birth month + this year), read as the year's theme.

What it cannot tell you

Numerology is a cultural and symbolic tradition with no scientific evidence behind it. The name number uses Latin letters only, and teachers differ on Rahu/Ketu friendships, lucky days and colours. Use it for reflection, never for important decisions.
